Good LORD.

Frienditto (NO LINK) is simply teh evil.

Why the fuck would I want a company run by these jokers to archive my LJ posts? LJ itself is good at it is. I can save my journal entries as text, and any other thing I would like to.

Might work like an RSS feed, but the SAVING PRIVACY ENABLED friendslist thing seems pretty sleazy. And there is a definite maliciousness there.

If the owners are the same people behind LJ Drama, those folk need some ambition and a life. Never heard o' the place before, never going back.

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] indigoskynet , and [livejournal.com profile] anonymous_sibyl .

Oh yeah.

ban_set frienditto Just in case.

And (sigh) disclaimer (courtesy the lovely [livejournal.com profile] indigoskynet and hopefully used with her permission).

Without my express written consent, none of the original content in this journal should be duplicated to be shared elsewhere. This explicitly includes frienditto. If you belong to Frienditto or any service like it and are on my friendslist, I'd appreciate being informed. If I discover someone on my friendslist on it I reserve the right to defriend as I see fit.

This whole thing pissed me off. Nobody needs to archive a flocked post of mine where I, for example, talked about Adair's mom dying. This is just not cool.

I think I don't trust many people. So when I do trust them, I actually have made a decision to trust them fully. Which means if they take something I've given them--knowledge of a flocked post, or my trust--and betray it, then that's more than inconsiderate to me.

This also has issues to me considering copyright and original writings. I don't like the idea that people could and would take my flocked poetry or novel and post it publicly. If they mark it in their memories, that's fine, because still they're the only ones who can go and read it, but the frienditto people had a feed where they were posting the archived posts publicly. They weren't just archiving them in a place where only the archiver could access them, they'd made them public. Not cool at all.

This is a hotbutton issue with me. So much is these days.

Thanks for the ban_set help. I've added it to my LJ even though the only people I have on my friends list is C42 people. I know none of you would use friendsditto but I want to make sure it can't somehow worm its way through if you've been hit.
