1. Who do you think was the most important or influential author in the scifi genre?

Oh boy. I'd think the first guy who showed us that We Could Go There. HG Wells, perhaps?

As for important, there are SO many. Asimov, "Doc" Smith, Andre Norton (who died the other day), even people like Gene Rodenberry... guy influenced the US space program, f'r cryin' out loud. Plus Trek was so ahead of its time.

2. How did you get into the career you are in now? Would you ever change careers?

Hmmm. Believe it or not, simple job application. I've literally gone being one of a minority of energy economists, to being the ONLY economist in a bunch of engineers. Sigh. It paid well at the time.

Would I change? Yes. Might end up changing focus, though. :p

3. What was your favorite childhood game/toy?

Little green soldiers? Probably still have 'em in a bag in storage somewhere.

4. If you had to time travel, would you go to the past or future? Why?

Future. I'd want to see how we'd end up.

5. Can you play a musical instrument? If not, is there one you wish you could play?

Alas, no. I'd want to play the Drums, simply because there is a part of me that likes the beat.
