I suffer with bag lust.

Love the backpacks, the shoulder bags, and the notebook bags. Don't know why.

This is indeed a bag to lust for.


What non-person lusts do you suffer from?

Last night I lusted after these shoes from 9 West. I lusted hard.

I also covet books. Books, books, books, mmmmm... books. I like to pat them and stroke them and smell the ink.

Well, knowing my LJ Flist, I thought that the booklust would be understood.

YES! BOOKS! The smell of a freshly-cracked new book, and even the slight must of an old book opened for the first time in a long while. Even the smell of cheap glue in a new trashy paperback. The slight chemicalish scent of a glossy magazine. It smells of potential.

The ink thing I fully understand. The licking Steve Bacic thing I don't understand.

Even the strangeness of electronic books. No scent, but still mighty good reading. One of my new things, as it's the quickest way to get good Baen stuff into my hands.

I look at the shoes you lust after. Nice set of cork there on the heels. Good for teaching your future students or going out, but do you have the toes to pull them off? :P

I like to get a new paperback book and run my fingers along the edge of the pages a few times until the crispness in that particular place dulls slightly.

The cork heels are awesome. And my current pedicure--bronze polish--would match quite well. I would rock those shoes. Yes, yes I would.

I'm more a shoes guy. Always black, for some weird reason. Though I have a set of very nice work boots. I have to wear 'em if I go out on to the platform to meet with people.

I kind of looked at the bag and I said "whoa!". I know what you mean, Indigo. The bags lead me to lose my awareness of my budget and I end up with another bag, and my budget all shot.

The boots? Depends on the shoe. Yo have to be accustomed to walking with them, as I've gotten a few ankle chafes from some boots. Gotta break 'em in.

I'll do the ankle-high thing. I'm only going calf high if I have to battle wild insects in the backyard or in the bush, and those boots are usually made of rubber.

*Drools* That bag. Honestly, I am forever on the lookout for the "perfect" bag. That one has lots and lots of pockets. I love pockets. And big. It has to be big enough that I can always have a book/magazine with me.

Books are my second item I covet. Well, no, first I covet books, then bags (to carry the books in).

I am also on the look for the perfect bag. Dribble. My leather knapsack that my sis got for me years ago started to die during the (work) trip to Caracas last year, so I may need a replacement for that eventually.

I hear you with the booklust. zBooks are to be coveted. Old ones, new ones, paperbacks, hardcovers, popular, obscure. Falling art, and pristine. DEoesn't matter. The pain of culling the bookshelf.... ouch.

I can't remember - do you have a laptop? I don't know what you're looking for but I swear by my Targus backpack. I can put my laptop, small purse, digital camera, paperback, phone, a ton of electrical cords, my jewelry roll (I trust airlines with my luggage but NOT my jewelry) and still slip it under the seat in front of me on the plane. If you're looking to replace your knapsack, you might like this.

I have the work DellfromHell, which resides in its own case, and I have my trusty old Toshiba warhorse. It's in a backpack that looks like a backpack, and not a laptop case. :P

laptop bags are good, though. Use the old T-bag to schlep my stuff around sometimes.

This is true. And it reminds me of a story: I had a guy who worked for us and we gave him a laptop and a laptop case. One day I noticed as he was packing for a trip, he was cramming a bunch of papers into his laptop case and put his laptop into a plastic shopping bag. I was horrified. He told me he had a ton of paperwork to take with him and it was just easier that way.

A couple of months later he attended our organizations Christmas party at a restaurant in St. Louis. He put his laptop case and plastic bag into the coatroom. Someone stole - you guessed it - the laptop case. I still giggle at the thought of the thief's reaction when s/he got the case home and opened it to discover a ton of paper instead of a laptop. *G*

Bare Essentuals Makeup Here, Birkenstocks, and watches, watches, watches and more watches. I have 10 now and am forever wanting more.

I kinda understand the watch lust. I had it with digital watches. All of them are either busted or stolen now, alas. I'm currently using a cheap knockoff Q&Q classical-face watch.

OK. Dumb guy question. Why prefer Bare Essentails makeup over something like Lush, for instance? Apart from personal taste, I mean?

I love watches. I hate them, however, when the time change comes around because I spend way too much time resetting them all. I'm into cartoon watches mostly. Like you, people get a kick out of seeing which one I'm wearing. One of my favorites is the cartoon George of the Jungle watch Greg bought me one year. He saw it on QVC or something and ordered it.

Yup, the hippie slipper type of birkie. Clogs and sandals. All colors and patterns. But they're not just hippie any more. They've got some cool looksI have five pair, and would have a sixth had they not sold out in my size before I could dial the number. (I'm a QVC junkie) I wear almost nothing else for work, and swear by them, I have a bad back, and it does make a difference. If I'm going to be doing any walking of any kind they're on my feet

Bare Essentuals, because I just love it. It's all natural minerals. Unscented, and not icky goopy drippy liquid stuff. And I have huge skin issue, and it works for me. I could go on for days, but then you'd get into the really girly stuff. Besides. PRETTY COLORS

The watches. Well lets just say I'm glad the bold colored bands with big faces has come into style. They get a kick out of it at work, because they never know what is going to be on my wrist when I get there

Oh. Right. Forgot about the back. Hopefully the surgery will ease that problem up a bit. Birkies do look comfy, but they are horribly expensive. People in these parts go for some variant of sports or rubber slipper.

When I saw the webpage, I figured out the appeal of the makeup. Natural things don't affect the skin so much. Kinda like the crystallish arm deoderant for people with sensitive skin.

Watches are cool, though. Should buy more.
