I lost my engagement ring once. Since Greg's mother gave it to me literally on her death bed, I was heartsick. I found it about a month later. I hope your search is much shorter.

This may sound silly, but if you have any boxes near where you normally take it off, look in them (if you haven't already).

My engagement ring managed to fall off the desk, into a drawer and, I am dead serious about this, hit a box of Q-Tips just right so that it landed in the Q-Tips. It wasn't until I finished the box that I found the ring.

I really do sympathize. I know how I felt when I lost the ring. Even though Greg kept telling me it was no big deal to him, I felt like shit. This woman trusted me with her ring and I go and flippin' lose it.

I FOUND IT.

Apparently, I put it on the edge of my table, it fell off, bounced at an angle and ended up in my pile of shoes. Either that or it slipped off my finger, and took a header into my shoes.

Needless to say, it's back on my RIGHT hand, where the finger is a bit bigger.

I'm glad you found it. Did you ask it why it was hiding from you?

This is going to sound very strange, but I think most jewelry is sentient, or at least stores a fair amount of emotional/memory energy. *g* This explains why I generally can't wear it.

I wondered, actually. Figured enough of it now, given the unreasonable happiness I felt when i found it.
