People often ask for reccommendations of books/fics/fandoms. But, again,
where are the memeish posts asking for books/movies/TV shows to stay far,
far, far away from? That'd be considerably more useful, don't you think?
Books: Anything by John Grisham, Eric Lustbader, Anne Rice.
In the field of nonfiction i'll throw in Malkin, or whatever her name is) and Coulter, since those books bear only a nodding acquaintance with facts.
Movies: Anything Gibson that is not Lethal Weapon or Mad Max. Anything by Tom Cruise. The Polecat is horribly overrated and consider herself damn lucky to have Mr. Oscar to hug on the nights that she watches "Catwoman" reruns and asks "What was I thinking?" Well, you were probably thinking the same thing when you did "B.A.P.S.". Excepting "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge". Most films starring rappers, with the Jet Li exception. But for the truly awful, there is "Tomcats", "Evita", "Love Crimes",and the immortal "Showgirls".
Television. There may be good TV out there, but it's in damn short supply. Anything on G4, except "X-PLay". Most reality TV. Most sports. ALL of the Murdoch and Time Warner cable news shows - I doubt there's a redeeming one in the bunch.
